Tropical Ground Moss (Dicranum species)
Known also as tropical pillow moss. Not to be confused with the Dicranum species from Northern climates,
which are very similar but require a cold dormant period to survive and will die back in tropical conditions.
This is a bright green short fuzzy moss that requires a moist substrate, high humidty and warm temperatures to thrive. It prefers medium to low light and temperatures above 65 F to grow well. This is a perfect living substrate for small reptiles and amphibians. Also excellent for bonsai that are not subjected to extreme cold, dry conditions.

Vesicularia dubyana (Java Moss-Terrestrial phase)
This is a tropical species native to Malaysia and Indonesia. Most hobbyists
usually encounter it in its aquatic form in aquarium shops.
It grows readily as a terrestrial if it is slowly acclimated from its aquatic phase. The terrestrial phase forms a nice thick flat mat. In the terrarium or vivarium it requires fairly wet and humid conditions. It cannot tolerate being dried out at all. The best uses for it are around waterfalls, ponds and drip walls. Of course it would also be perfect in a paludarium where it can be enjoyed as both an aquatic and terrestrial.
Sold in flat pieces growing on a wet sphagnum moss substrate.
Temporarily Sold Out. We have more growing so check back soon.
